Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026
Lotea is a communication coaching service currently in pre-launch. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
We have written this in plain English rather than legal language. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
Who we are
Lotea ("we", "us") operates the website at lotea.co.uk. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Please add your registered business address here if and when you register a company. If you are operating as sole traders, a contact email is sufficient.
What we collect
If you join the waitlist
We collect your email address, and any other details you choose to give us in the form. We use these only to contact you about early access to Lotea and to tell you when the product is ready.
If you email us
We keep your email address and the contents of your message so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
When you visit the site
Our hosting provider automatically records limited technical information, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This happens on essentially every website and is necessary to serve pages and protect against abuse.
What we do not collect
This website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that profile you across other sites. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
Our legal basis for using your data
- Consent — when you give us your email address to join the waitlist. You may withdraw this at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for replying to your enquiries, keeping the site secure, and understanding in general terms how the site is used.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain information by law.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies used are strictly necessary to deliver the site to your browser. Because we do not use non-essential cookies, we do not display a cookie banner.
We load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google may process your IP address as part of serving those fonts. If you would prefer that not to happen, you can block third-party requests in your browser settings.
Who we share your data with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the site, and only to the extent needed:
- Our hosting provider, which serves this website and processes server logs.
- Our email and form providers, which store waitlist sign-ups and messages you send us.
These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. Some may store data outside the UK; where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist sign-ups until you ask us to remove you, or until we close the waitlist and no longer need them. We keep emails for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Ask us to transfer your data to another service
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our legal basis
To exercise any of these, email hello@lotea.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Keeping your data safe
We use reputable providers, serve this site over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and limit access to personal data to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
Lotea is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Lotea develops — particularly when the product launches and begins processing conversations. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will let waitlist members know by email.
A note on what comes next
Lotea is not yet live. When the product launches, it will process the messages and conversations you choose to share with it, which is more sensitive than an email address. Before that happens we will publish an updated policy covering exactly how that content is handled, how long it is kept, and how to delete it — and we will not launch without it.
